MADISON

The Iron Giant is one of my favourite films, not only because it's visually beautiful, but also because its story focuses on all the big scary things - friendship and hate, life and death.

I was inspired by Cold War design, as the Cold War is a major theme and drives the film's plot. The cover is derived from the film's nighttime scenes, which use many silhouettes, and focus on the stars and sky as a motif, whereas the record slips focus on the characters and sets, taking their autumnal colour palate from the daytime scenes.

I aimed for the design to be simultaneously reminiscent of the film and unique.
